“You cannot run this far…”Virat Kohli on Concerns with his Lean Patch

Virat Kohli talked about his bad performance and how it’s just a phase many cricketers face. The Asia Cup is right around the corner, beginning on 27th August till 11th September. The tournament for India will begin on 28th August. India will play their first game against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium.

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is currently in the playing squad announced for the Asia Cup. Kohli is having a bad spell in international cricket and hasn’t performed well in over a year. He opened up about his bad performance and stated it was just a phase. The batter hasn’t scored a century for the last three years.

“I know where my game stands, and you cannot run this far in your international career without having the ability to counter situations and counter conditions and counter different kinds of bowling. So, this for me is an easier phase to process, but I don’t want to put this phase behind me,” Virat Kohli expressed his take on performance on Star Sports.

“I want to learn from it, and I want to understand what are the core values that I have, as a sportsperson and as a human being. As long as I’m ticking those boxes, I know there are ups and downs, and when I come out of this phase, I know how consistent I can be. My experiences are sacred to me. Whatever I have experienced in this phase or the past, as well one thing that I can vouch for is that I have never valued myself more as a person.”
