Vinesh Phogat wins the bronze medal in the Women’s 53kg of World Wrestling Championship 2022. The World Wrestling Championship is in Belgrade, where Vinesh won the medallion for India on Wednesday. She was amongst the elite Indian wrestlers participating in the Championship and gained a massive victory for India.

Vinesh Phogat scripted history by beating Sweden’s Emma Malmgren to win the bronze medal at the Championship. It isn’t Phogat’s first medal, and she had previously earned it in the 2019 edition of the World Wrestling Championship. She is also a triple medal winner from the Commonwealth Games.

She defeated Emma by a massive difference of 8-0. Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian woman to win two medals in this esteemed Championship. She made an incredible comeback after not qualifying for the Asian Championships and losing to Khulan Batkhuyag of Mongolia.

She won her beginning game against Zhuldyz Eshimova of Kazakhstan by 4-0. Vinesh won her next round against Azerbaijan’s Leyla Gurbanova with a Win by injury. With following victories, she competed for the Bronze medal and won the game. Unfortunately, Vinesh lost her semifinal game to Japanese Ami Ishii by 5-4. The World Wrestling Championship will end on 18th September.
