Sri Lanka and Australia played their second T20 International match yesterday on 8th June. The game was played at R Premadasa Stadium in the capital city of Sri Lanka, Colombo. Both the countries will play all formats of matches, including three T20I, five One Day Internationals, and two Test games. Presently Australia has won both the T20 games played against Sri Lanka. In the previous match on 7th June, AUS won by ten wickets and defeated SL terribly.

Australia won the toss and decided to bowl, giving the first innings to Sri Lanka to score. Charith Asalanka scored thirty-nine runs, and Kusal Mendis made thirty-six runs. Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka, and Wanindu Hasaranga made thirteen, fourteen, and twelve each. All the other players failed to score anything above five runs. SL gave AUS a target of 124 runs.

Wanindu Hasaranga is finally back in form after failing to take any wickets in the previous match and took four wickets. Dushmantha Chameera, Pathum Nissanka, and Nuwan Thushara took a wicket each.

Aaron Finch and David Warner scored twenty-four and twenty-one runs each. Mitchell Marsh brought eleven runs, Glenn Maxwell made nineteen runs, and Matthew Wade scored twenty-six. Australian players didn’t score much, but all their players added some runs, unlike Sri Lanka, where three players scored the runs and others didn’t.

Kane Richardson took four wickets, Jhye Richardson got three wickets and Glenn Maxwell bagged two.
The stadium was filled with fans for both teams. Revenue collected from the ticket sales will be donated to welfare institutions.
