SL vs AUS: Sri Lanka and Australia played their second One Day International in their all-format series. Sri Lanka is hosting Australia for three T20I, five ODI, and two Test matches in various cities. They played the second ODI game at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on 16th June. Australia won the T20I games after winning two games out of three. They also won the first ODI match played in Pallekele Stadium.

Australia won the game with a close call after winning by Duckworth-Lewis Stern method. The game had to be stopped at the second-last over and based on the analysis Australia came on top with a higher run rate. Sri Lanka won the second game with a similar strategy to DLS. They batted in the first inning and gave a target of 220 runs.

Kusal Mendis scored thirty-six runs, whereas Dhananjaya de Silva and Dasun Shanaka made thirty-four runs each. Chamika Karunaratne took three wickets, whereas Dunith Wellalage, Dhananjaya de Silva, and Dushmantha Chameera bagged two wickets per head.
Sri Lanka gave a smallish target of 220 runs in fifty overs.

SL vs AUS: Match Highlights, Sri Lanka Won by 26 Runs, 2nd ODI
David Warner scored thirty-seven runs, Glenn Maxwell made thirty runs, and Steve Smith got twenty-eight runs for Australia. Pat Cummins took three wickets, and Matthew Kuhnemann bagged two wickets. Due to bad weather conditions, Australia had to stop their batting, and the DLS method was used, where Sri Lanka emerged victorious by twenty-six runs.
