Rajasthan Royals faced Chennai Super Kings yesterday in the 68th match of IPL 2022. It was an intriguing game played by both the teams. Moeen Ali was the highlight of the game as he created the highest runs in the match and made a personal record for the highest score in IPL. Moeen Ali is an English all-rounder with left-handed batting and right-arm off-break bowling. He has been playing for Chennai Super Kings since 2021.Â
Yesterday was quite a start for CSK. Chennai won the toss and decided to bat first, where they sent Ruturaj Gaikwad and David Conway as their openers. They received a massive blow to the face after Gaikwad was down only after making two runs in six balls. It was a bad start for Chennai, but soon the game was about to change. Moeen Ali entered the ground one down and soon showed Rajasthan their mistake of getting Gaikwad out. He began thrashing RR bowlers left and right and was playing super aggressively. They crossed the fifty runs mark in no time, that too in just two overs after Ali’s presence. It was now a very phenomenal start for CSK as he created a half-century in nineteen balls. It looked like the game was slipping rapidly from the hands of RR. Moeen Ali made ninety-three runs in just fifty-seven balls, making his high score in the Indian Premier League.Â
Ali was soon dismissed by Obed McCoy, and the thrashing came to an end. CSK captain MS Dhoni tried to maintain that momentum but failed after he entered early. It was soon a poor game for Chennai, and they only made 150 runs.
