BCCI President Sourav Ganguly spoke about his concern about team India’s recent performance in T20I games. India is having a bad spell when it comes to their T20I. Australia is currently touring India for a three-match T20I series. The men in blue lost the first match against Australia in Punjab.

India has improved quite a bit in its batting department. Players like Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya are all in their peak performances. India also gave Australia a massive target of 209 runs, despite the score they lost. Bad bowling performance led to the defeat. Many questioned skipper Rohit Sharma on his captaincy.

Sourav Ganguly backed Rohit Sharma on questions about his captaincy. “Rohit Sharma has a winning percentage of almost 80. India has lost the last three-four matches, but before that, he has led in 35-40 matches and lost just five or six. I am sure Rohit and Rahul Dravid will be concerned about the team and everything, and they will improve,” Ganguly was quoted by the Press Trust of India.

Ganguly talked about the terrible performance India had. He talked about the small number of games lost. His statement made clear that India is winning tours but is performing worse in major tournaments. India got defeated by both Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2022. Then India lost due to a poor bowling lineup.

“I am not worried about one or two losses, but yes, we have not done well in big tournaments. We will talk about that. The team will leave two to three weeks, will get time to acclimatise and play practice matches.”
