Yuzvendra Chahal spoke in defense of Virat Kohli after he faced plenty of backlashes due to unsatisfactory performance for a year. He was amongst the highest-scoring cricketers in the world. Chahal and Kohli are good friends as the duo played for a long time. Both were in the IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore, where Chahal was a part for eight years.
From 2011 to 2020, Kohli has featured in eight years as the most run scorer of the year. This streak ended after the emergence of the next decade. Virat is yet to score an international century since 2019, creating a three-year-long patch. The leg-spinner talked about Kohli’s contribution to the Indian cricket scene.
“If there is someone who has a 50+ average in T20Is, he has been the Man of the Tournament in two T20 World Cups, he has 70 hundred across all formats. You just see his average across all formats, the problem is we just think about his 100s, we don’t talk about those valuable contributions of 60-70 because of the standards he has set. If he is there at the crease and has 15-20 runs behind him, I am telling you no bowler wants to bowl to him.” Yuzvendra Chahar said on Sports Yari.

“Problem is We Just Think of His 100s”- Yuzvendra Chahal on Virat Kohli
Chahal talks about playing under the captaincy of Virat and now of Rohit Sharma. “My role has always been the same under different captains, they always use me as a wicket-taking bowler. For me, they are all same. I have gotten, the liberty as a bowler. They always prefer on what I want to do. Sometimes Rohit bhaiya asks me this is the situation, what will you do? As a bowler, you know, you cannot be relaxed in any over.”
