MI vs KKR Jasprit Bumrah Becomes the Man of the Match

Mumbai Indians played their eleventh match with Kolkata Knight Riders in the 56th match of Tata IPL 2022. It was an important match for both the teams played on 9th May, i.e. Sunday. KKR managed to defeat MI by a giant margin of fifty-two runs. The game was played at DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai. 

Mumbai won the toss and chose to bowl, giving the first inning scoring run to Kolkata. Venkatesh Iyer opened for KKR and scored forty-three runs for the team. Nitish Rana also scored similar figures of forty-three runs for Riders. KKR ended the first innings by giving Mumbai a target of 165 runs in twenty overs.

Mumbai Indians failed to make a strong entry with its captain, and opener Rohit Sharma got caught out after only making two runs. Ishan Kishan played exceptionally well and was single-handedly scoring for MI and made fifty-one runs. Mumbai failed to chase the runs and got all out. They only managed to reach 113 runs in seventeen overs.

Man of the Match Jasprit Bumrah

Despite Mumbai Indians losing by a massive margin, the Man of the Match title was given to Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah played exceptionally well and was the only bowler to stop KKR from achieving more runs. Bumrah is a right-arm fast bowler who took an incredible five wickets for MI. He sent Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, Sheldon Jackson, Pat Cummins, and Sunil Narine back to the pavilion. Without his presence, Mumbai Indians would’ve lost the game with even more margin. Along with Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah is the only consistent performing player from Mumbai Indians.
