Indian badminton star PV Sindhu played her first round of Malaysia Master 2022. Saina Nehwal, HS Prannoy, Ashwini Ponnappa, and Sikki Reddy will be representing India in the Masters series. Sindhu played her first match on 6th July at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur. The games were played at the same venue as the Malaysia Open 2022 last week.
PV Sindhu played her first round against China’s He Bing Jiao on Tuesday. Sindhu and Jiao had previously played in the Indonesia Open, where the Chinese defeated the Indians in the first round. So it was good revenge for Sindhu, who is World No.7 to World No.9. In the first set where the Indian took the lead and was 11-3 till the break. The first set ended in India’s favor by 21-13.

The Chinese took her game one level up in the second set. He Bing Jiao took the lead at the beginning by 11-7. Sindhu eventually equaled the points, but Jiao didn’t let the game slip off her hands and won the second set by 17-21. The game was equaled by 1-1 between India and China, and a final tie-breaker round will be played.

Malaysia Masters: PV Sindhu Heads to the Second Round, Beats He Bing Jiao in the First Round
In the final round, PV Sindhu didn’t let the Chinese linger around much and took the lead. The third round ended with India winning by 21-15 after fifty-six minutes of going back and forth. Sindhu was defeated for the ninth time, the last time being in the Tokyo Olympics Bronze medal last year. The Indian will face Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia.
