He received plenty of praises from several players and sports fans. Ravi Shastri, a former Indian coach, also applauded Patidar for his exceptional performance against Lucknow. Shastri said, “They didn’t help themself by slipping those catches in Lucknow’s opinion. But that’s part of a game. Patidar would say, ‘I’ll consider taking that.’ When I’m hitting it so well, I expect a certain amount of luck. He was magnificent.” He added, “Once you have special innings, like Rajat Patidar. A successor batted like he’d been playing in the Indian Premier League for a couple of years. Beautiful shot, brave… unaffected by the event, unafraid of the opponents or its fast bowler. He was incredible. He set up the game for RCB.”
