On Tuesday, Lucknow Super Giants played the 57th match of Tata IPL 2022 against Gujarat Titans. The game was played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. GT won the round by sixty-two runs against LSG and became the first team to enter the playoffs.
Rashid Khan took a four-wicket haul for Gujarat against Lucknow in yesterday’s game. Gujarat won the toss, GT captain chose to bat, and ended the first inning with 144 runs. Shubman Gill made sixty-three runs for the titans.
LSG had to chase the target of 145 runs, which they failed to reach. David Miller scored twenty-six runs for Lucknow. GT did an incredible defense and managed to knock out all the players on the thirteenth over itself. All due to exceptional bowling by Rashid Khan. Khan took four wickets and sent LSG’s scoring players back to the pavilion.
Rashid Khan is a right-arm leg break spinner from Afghanistan. His incredible four wickets not only gained GT the win, but also helped in achieving a milestone. Rashid Khan has now completed 450 wickets in T20 matches of his career. Khan is now the third bowler to accomplish this after Dwayne Bravo and Imran Tahir. Rashid’s four-wicket haul was also the best bowling haul in IPL as the spinner merely gave twenty-four runs in return.
“The wicket I got Jason Holder, that was a very crucial wicket at that time. We knew he’s someone who can take the game away. So his wicket is something, I had planned to bowl that leggie from the middle stump and I was expecting it to go to slip but the leg before was something. That wicket I enjoyed a lot.” Rashid said stating his favorite wicket.
