Lionel Messi praised and tipped Karim Benzema of France to be the deserving winner of the Ballon d’Or. Messi has won a total of seven Ballon d’Or in his entire career. He is also amongst the most scoring players in history, sharing his position with yesteryear champions. Karim Benzema plays for Real Madrid, who recently, on 29th May, won the UEFA Champions League 2021-2022.

Benzema is in his best form and scored goals against Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain(PSG) within the starting seventeen minutes, making 2-0. He is also the most goal scorer in this season of the Champions League, Karim helped Madrid slide through the league and win the Champions title. Though Kareem made no score in the finals, his presence was enough to defeat Liverpool and win the Champions League.

Lionel mentioned Karim while giving an interview to the Argentine channel TyC Sports. He said, “There’s no doubt, it’s very clear that Benzema has had a spectacular year and has ended it by winning the Champions League. He was crucial from the last-16 onwards in every match, and I think there’s no doubt that Benzema deserves to win the Ballon d’Or.”
