Yuzvendra Chahal is a right-arm leg-break bowler who rose to fame after his IPL debut in 2011. He was also the first Indian and the second player ever to take a six-wicket haul at T20 International. Chahal is presently playing for Rajasthan Royals and played his last match against Chennai Super Kings. Yuzvendra dismissed CSK captain MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu in RR vs CSK leading his team to a victory. RR bought Chahal at a deserving price of INR 6.50 crores.

IPL 2022: Yuzvendra Chahal Matches Imran Tahir’s Most Wickets Record in IPL

Yuzvendra Chahal is currently the Purple Cap holder of IPL 2022. He has the highest number of wickets of a total of twenty-six. RR has benefited solely from his exceptional bowling and is challenging to manage spins. Imran Tahir from South Africa had the record for most wickets taken by a spinner in the Indian Premier League. Tahir had the twenty-six dismisses, which now is equaled by Chahal. He made the record in 2019 while playing for Chennai Super Kings. Imran played seventeen matches and bowled sixty-four overs. Yuzi now has a much higher chance to break the record as he has only played fourteen games, bowled fifty-six overs, and has already equaled Tahir’s record.

Chahal will likely break the record as RR will qualify through playoffs and play a couple more matches. He will soon overtake Cricket veteran Imran Tahir’s IPl record and set a new benchmark.
