Tata IPL 2022 began on 26th March, and it has been quite an adventure and is still going on. It was a different season as none of the scores, team combination, and player performance was predictable. Unexpected teams were on the top-performing list, and veteran teams disappointed the fans. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings were on top of the food chain in previous seasons and are now at the bottom. Newly entered teams like Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are leading. Both the new squads have fixed their position in the playoffs without having to fight tough.

IPL 2022 will see intense games now for teams to enter. Disqualifying teams will also set the fate of other groups. Only four matches are left before the playoffs begin, and only two teams are qualified. Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Punjab Kings are still fighting to secure a place in the playoffs. Lucknow became the second to enter after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders on 18th May at DY Patil stadium. There are only two spots remaining and plenty of contenders.

RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore have to defeat GT today on the 19th to take a step further. It will be their last match pre-playoff, and even if they win today’s round, DC must lose. RCB is showing a tough chance of entering the playoffs. They are in 5th position and must win against Gujarat.

RR: Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals are probably the closest to entering the playoffs as they already hold the needed points and have a solid performance. All they need to do is defeat CSK in their final game pre-playoff. Losing to Chennai still wouldn’t end their hope if Bangalore and Delhi don’t make a required net run rate.

DC: Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals have their last match against Mumbai Indians will be an intriguing game. It will decide the fate of other teams wanting to qualify. If MI wins, RCB, PBKS, and SRH may have a chance if they acquire a higher run rate.

PBKS and SRH: Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad

Punjab Kings will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their final match, and it will be a tough one. Both the teams have plenty to lose. Punjab must win this match and hope RCB and DC lose as well. Similarly, SRH should beat PBKS and hope RCB and DC don’t achieve the required run rates.
