England Women’s captain Amy Jones talked about how Indian Women’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is tough to bowl. India and England played their second ODI match out of the three-match ODI series. Both the teams finished their T20I series where England won by 2-1. India made their comeback in the ODI series where they won by 88 runs in the second game and lead the series by 2-0.
“Every loss is tough and they got away from us at the end with the bat. Humans batted extremely well. We didn’t get close enough, didn’t get partnerships,” Amy Jones said during the post-match presentations.
Harmanpreet Kaur gave a smashing performance with having a bad odd after England won the toss and chose to bowl first. She is the best all-rounder presently with better batting and bowling. She smashed 143 runs off 111 runs.
“She is very tough to bowl to, and for young talents, this is good learning. Wherever we bowled, she was finding the boundary.”
India won both their games of ODI and emerged victorious in the series. India closed the losing streak of the ODI series against England which had been going on around since 1999. Kaur smashed eighteen boundaries and five sixes to achieve the breaking score.
“There are points to be had in the next game, so we need to improve. With a lot of the senior ones missing, it’s about giving opportunities to the youngsters, and Lord’s is one more step in that direction. A lot to play for as there are points to play for still,”
