India will soon face South Africa on 9th June at 7:00 pm Indian Standard Time. It will be the South Africa tour of India, where India will host SA.  After a two-month-long IPL 2022, plenty of players went on rest, like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah. The BCCI selected a team full of young blood wanting to prove their worth to India. IPL stars like Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh got the chance to play in international games.

KL Rahul was named as the captain for the young Indian team against South Africa. Though while practicing in Delhi, where the first game is to be played, he suffered from an injury. Rahul had a right groin injury while practicing in the evening. Rishabh Pant was announced as the new captain of the Indian team. Pant is often compared with MS Dhoni for his playing.

“My batting order will depend on the condition. In these conditions, we can’t have floating batting because we play spinners day in and out. But if we need a floating batting line up we will have it. Not much will change in the batting order as KL was to open. There will be one change. We don’t have a lot of openers so you can guess what that will be.” Pant said after the dismissal of KL Rahul was mentioned.

Pant, who was named vice-captain earlier, got promoted to captain. Hardik Pandya is now the vice-captain of the Indian team.
