KL Rahul talked about the defeat India faced against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup last year. India is just a day away from facing Pakistan in an action-packed opening game. The match will be on Sunday, the second day of Asia Cup 2022. It has been a year since the two countries have played against each other. Rohit Sharma will captain the Indian side, whereas Babar Azam will lead the Pakistan.

Rahul opened about the defeat India had to face by Pakistan in the T20 World Cup last year. He answered during a press conference on Friday, where the vice-captain was interviewed about the India vs Pakistan game.

“Yes, obviously. Losing any game in a World Cup always hurts you a little bit. It was our first game of the World Cup last year, and we were very excited. Any team that enters the World Cup wants to start well, but unfortunately, that did not happen for us. We were outplayed against a really strong Pakistan team.”

Rahul also said that the team is eager to face Pakistan in the upcoming match. The two teams will play their best, keeping other victories and defeat aside on the field. “Yes we get an opportunity to once again play against them, it is a contest we are all looking forward to, and we all are eager to go out there. The game starts from zero, there might be history, but it does not count for anything. It will always start from zero.”

Hong Kong will be the third team with India and Pakistan. They defeated UAE in the qualifier and joined Group A.
