India Squad Announced for Asia Cup 2022: KL Rahul to Feature as Vice-Captain

The Asia Cup 2022 is nearing its inauguration on the 27th of August. It will be an exciting event for India as the first game will be against Pakistan on 28th. The Asia Cup has shifted its venues from Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates due to the economic crisis faced by the island nation.   

It will be the clash of two giants, India and Pakistan. Pakistan defeated India in the T20I World Cup 2021. The men in blue will equal the score in this opening game for the country. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2022. Rohit Sharma will be the captain, and KL Rahul is returning as the deputy.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be absent from the squad. He suffered a back injury and won’t be present for the continental tournament. Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik will be the two wicket-keeper batsman on the team.
