Indian Women’s Cricket team played the finals of Australia Women in the Commonwealth Games 2022 on 7th August. It was the finals of the Women’s Cricket tournament at the Games. India played an exceptional match with the Australian team. The Women in Blue surpassed England to enter the finals at the CWG.
Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was the leading lady on the team. Jemimah Rodrigues also helped plenty in making a lesser run difference. Renuka Singh and Meghna Singh were the star bowlers of the game. Beth Mooney and Australian captain Meg Lanning were top performers in the game.
Australia won the toss and chose to bat first. Beth Mooney scored 61 runs, and Meg Lanning made 36 runs. Ashleigh Gardner made 25 runs, whereas Rachael Haynes got 18 runs. Australian women gave the target of 161 runs.
Ashleigh Gardner took three wickets, whereas Megan Schutt and Darcie Brown bagged two wickets each.
Jemimah Rodrigues scored 33 runs, and Harmanpreet Kaur made 65 runs with seven boundaries and two 6s. Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma scored 13 and 11 runs.
