IND vs WI: “Boys are Young, But…” Shikhar Dhawan After Series Win, 3rd ODI: India and West Indies played their final ODI match at Queen’s Park Oval Stadium on 27th July. It was an incredible series for India as the team won all the three matches. The first two games were won with a close call of three runs and two wickets.

In the third game, India batted first, where opener Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill made most of the scores. Dhawan scored 58 runs, and Gill made 98 runs. Shubman Gill was close to achieving his maiden ODI century but was interrupted by rain. Gill had to leave the score at 98 unbeaten. Yuzvendra Chahal was the leading wicket-taker of the game, with four wickets.

Both the team’s innings were paused by the rain. In the end, the DLS method was used, where India won the game by 119 runs. India prevailed in the series by 3-0.

Captain Shikhar Dhawan was happy after the series win. He stated in the post-match interview, “I feel the boys are young, but they played maturely. The way they handled themselves on the field, really proud of them. Very good signs for us. I am quite pleased with my form, I have been playing this format since a long time. I was happy with the way I played that knock, in the first ODI.”

“And even today, happy with my performance. The way he(Shubman Gill) scored those 98 runs, it was amazing to watch. The way all the boys responded, was pretty amazing. We feel lucky to come here, we are thankful to the crowd. They make us more popular. I am proud of our bowling unit, they gave their 100 percent. The way Siraj took those two wickets, and the way Shardul and others bowled.”
