The Asia Cup 2022 has officially begun. India played its first match against Pakistan on 28th August, Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Indian team also embarked on its first victory in the continental tournament. Rohit Sharma is back as the captain after the West Indies series and will lead India through the Cup’s finals.
India’s first match was an iconic match of men in blue vs men in green. It was a great first match between the neighbors. India played their first Asia Cup 2022 match and won it. It was a remarkable comeback against Pakistan, after the defeat in the T20 World Cup last year. India won in the same venue where Pakistan defeated them.

India won the toss and opted for bowling. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam opened for Pakistan. Rizwan was the highest scorer in the match at 43 runs, and Babar made 10 runs. Iftikhar Ahmed made 28 runs, whereas Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan scored 10 runs each. Haris Rauf and Shahnawaz Dahani made 13 and 16 runs. Pakistan gave a target of 148 runs.
Mohammad Nawaz took three wickets, and Naseem Shah bagged two wickets.
Rohit Sharma opened the game and made a short 12 runs. Virat Kohli was in his form and scored 35 runs. Ravindra Jadeja also made 35 runs, and Suryakumar Yadav scored 18 runs. Hardik Pandya was the finisher of the game and made 33 runs in 17 balls.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged four wickets, and Hardik Pandya took three. Arshdeep Singh got two wickets.
