Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt talked about Rishabh Pant and his comparatively poor performance. India announced the T20 World Cup 2022 squad where Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are named for the team. Subsequently Pant wasn’t much of a part of Asia Cup 2022 where India struggled to gain victories.
Pant’s scores remained low throughout the Asia Cup series. He was also not present in the first game against Pakistan. He made 14, 17 and 20 runs for India. His T20I average is low at 23.94 in his career. To make-up for the low performance Dinesh Karthik is added to the team. He is presently the only player who was part of the first T20 World Cup. His experience will be a great help for India. Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt had his own take on Rishabh Pant.

“His skill and strength are too many shots. His downfall is too many shots. Too many shots all at once. When he is successful, he looks spectacular. His range is good and he is brave too. So many shots. And that’s the problem. At times, you need to calculate like take a single after hitting. But he has so much belief in his abilities that he goes for them, and when he fails to connect people ask, ‘what’s the problem?. When he connects, you say ‘what a player’. He is someone who has a free-hand to express himself. That’s the way he is going to be.”
