The three Indian players batswoman Smriti Mandhana, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and all-rounder Axar Patel got nominated for the ‘Player of the Month’ award by the International Cricket Council. The trio are the only Indian players nominated for the monthly award celebrated by the ICC.

Smriti Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur are being nominated for the first time. All because of their excellent performance against England in the ODI series. If anyone of the two players will then they will become the first Indian to win the Women’s Player of the Month award.

Axar Patel also got nominated based on his performance against Australia and South Africa in recent series. He gave an all-around performance, in batting as well as in bowling. Patel thrived in bowling with an excellent economy rate than other bowlers. He is the few good performing bowlers left on the Indian team.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored 143 runs not-out to win the historic ODI victory against England. Mandhana also made unbeaten 79 runs in the T20I series and later 91 in ODI matches. India Women created history after beating England in an ODI since 1999. Axar Patel took over nine wickets with an average of 11.44 and an economy of 5.72.
