Gujarat Village’s Elaborate Russian Betting Scam Rs 400Day, Harsha Bhogle Mimic and Youtube live

On 7th July in Gujarat’s Vadnagar, Mehsana, two local teams played a match in an open field, except it wasn’t just a regular local cricket game. Chennai Fighters and Gandhinagar Challengers played a T20 match along with umpires where the teams were scoring boundaries and catch-outs. It was a Fake Cricket Tournament.

The cricket tournament was set up to trap Russian members to invest in the “IPL”. According to Mehsana Police, the players were paid Rs 400 a day for the match. The Youtube live also had a Harsha Bhole impersonator to make everything as natural as possible. The live was on during the Police raid, and the on-field umpire was seen running for their life.

The game was set to con Russian betters into India’s popular cricket league IPL. The Mehsana Police arrested four people for the scam Soeb Davda, Mahmad Saquib Saifi, Mahmad Abu Bakar Kolu, and Sadiq Davda.

VN Rathod a Police Sub-Inspector, “One of the screens displayed the score as Chennai Fighters 103/3 while the other screen displayed a Telegram messenger chat box where betting rates were being projected. We stopped the match and questioned the captain of both Chennai Fighters and Gandhinagar Challengers. Both were residents of Vadnagar and told us that they were paid Rs 400 daily to pretend to play cricket. The players were provided cricket jerseys, kits, and other equipment and asked to follow the instructions of the two umpires who dictated to them how to play every ball.”

According to police, Soeb offered Rs 400 per day to local boys. He also rented the farmland to organize the tournament. Asif Mahmad in Russia was the mastermind behind this scam. They received bets from various cities in Russia, such as Moscow and Tver.
