French Open 2022: Sania Mirza-Ivan Dodig Qualifies to Mixed Doubles Second Round

French Open 2022 is presently going in Paris. Indian tennis champion Sania Mirza takes a step forward into the second round of Mixed Doubles. Sania Mirza is the former Doubles World No.1 and was named India’s No.1 player by the Women’s Tennis Association. From 2003 since her first International Single till retirement in 2013, she has won six Grand Slam Titles. Mirza has finished in the second rank in French Open 2007 and 2011. She was also the runner-up in Wimbledon in 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009. In 2008 she also ranked at the top in the Olympic Games.

French Open 2022: Sania Mirza Qualifies to Mixed Doubles Second Round

Sania Mirza won her first game in French Open 2022 yesterday, 25th May. She played in Mixed Doubles with Croatian player Ivan Dodig. The pair was up against Laura Siegemund– Santiago Gonzalez from Germany and Mexico. It was an easy win for the duo, and triumphed without hassle.

Sania was a champion at Roland Garros and had won the Mixed Doubles Title in 2012. Mirza and Dodig played the first set against the German and Mexican duo and won by 7-4. The Indian-Croatian pair easily defeated them in the second set by 6-2

French Open 2022: Sania Mirza Qualifies to Mixed Doubles Second Round

Sania may play her next match against Nicolas Mahut of France and Shuai Zhang of China. Mirza will also play her first match of the Women’s Double with Lucie Hradecka against Jasmine Paolini and Martina Trevisan.
