French Open 2022: Rafael Nadal Beats Novak Djokovic and heads for Semi-Finals

Rafael Nadal reached the French Open 2022 Semi-Finals and defeated Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals. Nadal is a twenty-two-time Grand Slam title holding champion and is thirteen times Roland Garros champion. According to the Association of Tennis Professionals, he was ranked as World No.1 for 209 weeks. He was No.1 till year-end five times.

French Open 2022: Rafael Nadal Beats Novak Djokovic and heads for Semi-Finals

Rafael Nadal played the quarter-finals of the French Open 2022 against his arch-rival Novak Djokovic. Djokovic and Nadal are both the face of Tennis across the world. Both are going back and forth to gain the most titles. Currently, Novak is behind Nadal due to his poor health conditions and ban for not following the Covid protocol.

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic played the quarter-finals today, 1st June at 12:15 am IST. Rafael Nadal from Spain defeated Auger Aliassime and has only lost three French Opens since his first. In the first set, Nadal won by 6-2, but Djokovic took the lead and won the second set by 4-6. The third set was won by Rafael again by 6-2. A fourth set was played which also came in the favor of the Spaniard and he won the quarter-finals by 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, and 7-6.

“It’s a very emotional moment for me. Thank you, everyone. It’s incredible, the support I get from you. Everyone knows how important it is for me to play here. It’s the most important tournament of my career.” Nadal expressed after playing a long four-hour game.

Rafael Nadal will play the Semi-Finals against Alexander Zverev on 3rd May, Friday at 6:30 pm IST. Nadal will aim for the title this season after coming back in form.
