Former Australian Cricketer Andrew Symonds Passed Away in a Car Accident

Former Australian Cricketer Andrew Symonds recently died in a car accident on 14th May Saturday night. Andrew Symonds, also popularly known as Roy, was two times World Cup from Australia. Symonds played all three forms of cricket and was known as the batting all-rounder. Roy played as a right-handed batsman and medium-pace as well as a right-arm off-spin bowler. He was also part of the Indian Premier League with Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians.

Former Australian Cricketer Andrew Symonds Passed Away in a Car Accident

Andrew Symonds recently passed away on Saturday after a car crash outside of Townsville in Queensland. He was the sole person in the car when this deadly incident occurred. Symonds died at a very young age of 46 and was a great shock to cricket fans all over the world. 

Police officially stated, “Early information indicated, shortly after 11 pm, the car was being driven on Hervey Range Road, near Alice River Bridge when it left the roadway and rolled. Emergency services attempted to revive the 46-year-old driver and sole occupant however he died of his injuries.” “The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.”

Andrew was an aggressive player often recognized for the white paint on his lip. His presence was quite intimidating, and so was the performance. Roy has played 198 One Day Internationals and made over 30 half-centuries. He also bagged 133 wickets with pace bowling and off-spin ball. Symond”s 2003 World Cup performance was the defining moment as he scored an undefeated 143 runs against Pakistan single-handedly. He has played over 14 T20 Internationals for Australia since his debut in 1998.
