‘Elder Brother for Me’: Virat Kohli Wishes for MS Dhoni Birthday

MS Dhoni is known as the best captain India has ever had since their start of playing this game. The love and appreciation he gets are like no other and plenty more is deserved. It is Dhoni’s 41st birthday today on 7th July. The whole world is congratulating him on such a special occasion. For fans it’s not just a regular birthday, it is a festival that the people of India celebrate.

Dhoni or as many call him “Thala” received several wishes from his colleagues, sports fraternity, and fans, but one stuck out amongst them. Virat Kohli, former Indian captain, congratulated MS Dhoni on his birthday, and wrote that he is like his elder brother and implied that he guided and protected him as an elder brother does.

He wrote a heartfelt tweet congratulating Thala on his birthday. Kohli wrote, “A leader like no other. Thanks for everything you have done for Indian cricket. You became more like an elder brother for me. Nothing but love and respect always. Happy birthday skip.”

Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy position of India in 2017, and he deemed Virat Kohli worthy of carrying on the mantle. He trusted Virat with such incredible responsibility, which he took well before stepping down as captain. MS Dhoni also announced his retirement from international cricket two years back in 2020.
