Deepak Chahar let go of an opportunity to run out Tristan Stubbs. India and South Africa played their final match of the three-match T20I series on 4th October, Tuesday. South Africa won the third match by 49 runs and got one win in the series. The men in blue won by 2-1 after defeating them in the first two games.

Indian bowler Deepak Chahar got a chance to run out Tristan Stubbs. He was out of the crease when Chahar noticed it and acted as if going to get him out but didn’t. Deepak didn’t dismiss Stubbs even though, according to the official rule it is allowed. He merely warned Tristan before going back to bowling.

A similar incident happened where Deepti Sharma ran out England’s Charlie Dean at the non-striker’s end in the tour of England ODI series. There was a debate on whether the rules are to be amended or not, but there is no action and it is present in the rulebook.

The video of Deepak warning Tristan has gone viral on social media. Fans have appreciated the action, while some questioned it. India was looking for a clean sweep victory, but with KL Rahul and Virat Kohli rested, it became difficult. Quinton de Kock gave a smashing start, and Rilee Rossouw joined. India failed to chase the runs, but Dinesh Karthik still made 46 runs while finishing.
