Tabraiz Shamsi has signed with the Rajasthan Royals as a substitute for Andrew Tye for the UAE leg of the IPL 2021, which begins on September 19, following a four-year absence.

In 2016 and 2017, Tabraiz Shamsi, the number one T20 spinner, was a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad. He took three wickets at a high economy rate of 9.19 in four games for Virat Kohli’s squad.

Andrew Tye has pulled out of the rest of the season after returning home during the India leg because to the growing covid-19 crisis and the shutdown of Australia’s borders.

After signing New Zealand keeper-batsman Glenn Phillips in place of Jos Buttler, he becomes the Royals’ second player to be replaced for the UAE leg.

They’ve already lost Jofra Archer, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Because the T20 World Cup and the Ashes follow the IPL, Ben Stokes, who is presently on a break to focus on his mental health, is unlikely to return to the IPL this season.

The Rajasthan Royals announced Tabraiz Shamsi’s signing on Wednesday with a video that depicts the spinner’s various forms of legendary celebrations.

With recent bowling efforts, the 31-year-old Chinaman has moved to the top of the ICC rankings. Tabraiz Shamsi has 33 wickets at an average of 17.09 in 23 matches since the start of 2020, with a good economy of 17.09.

With three victories and four losses in the first half of the tournament, the Sanju Samson-led team sits in fifth place on the points table.
