India is ready to play their second T20I against England on 9th July at Edgbaston cricket stadium in Birmingham. Several players will return to the team like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and plenty of others in the squad. They were absent in the first T20I game as they were on rest break after playing in the final test series against England.
All eyes are on Virat Kohli, who gave a poor performance in the test match. In the first innings, he scored 11 runs and 20 runs in the second innings. He had a bad year together as he hasn’t performed well even in the Indian Premier League. He left the captaincy earlier this year and passed it on to Rohit Sharma.

Ex-Indian cricketer, Karsan Ghavri showed his disappointment on how he is still selected for the Indian despite their performance. “World Cup is far away. He has to prove his form in the current series. These days you can’t play for long riding on your name. Virat is a great player but only his name will not work. He has to perform and score runs. This is how it goes. Everybody understands that he is going through a rough patch and it happens with every player. He has the hunger for runs, hunger for success in his heart but his personal form is quite disappointing.” Ghavri said in Jagran.

Virat Kohli will be playing in the second T20I for England. Everyone is hoping, he will play well in the upcoming matches and reach the level he set.
“Virat Kohli is such a great player for India, but unfortunately for the last two years, we have seen him getting caught behind or caught in the slips while chasing the delivery outside the off stump. He has to look at this and improve. He has to restrict those shots because if he keeps going like this and getting out and not getting runs, there comes a question mark- Why is he not scoring?” He further said.

Karsan Ghavri is hopeful about Virat Kohli, but he said if he isn’t scoring enough, he should be dropped from the team. “Age has got nothing to do with sports as long as you are fit enough to compete. But if you are not doing well and you are 35, then people will start questioning you.”
