Former skipper Virat Kohli talked about his performance in recent times and compared it to his 2014 struggles. The Asia Cup is nearing, and the Indian contingents have traveled to the UAE to prepare for the upcoming Continental tournament. Virat Kohli will be present in the squad after missing the West Indies series.

India will play their first game against Pakistan. Many are hoping the game will be a comeback of Virat Kohli. It will be almost a year since the two leading teams went against each other. Six teams are participating in the Asia Cup.

Virat Kolhi talked about his performance and failings in the England series on the Star Sports show, Game Plan. “What happened in England was a pattern, so something that I could work on and something that I had to kind of overcome. Right now, as you rightly mentioned, there is nothing that you can point out saying that the problem is happening here. So, that for me, is actually an easier thing to process because I know that I’m batting well at times, when I start feeling that rhythm back, then I know I’m batting well.”

“So that for me is not an issue, which wasn’t the case in England. I didn’t feel like I was batting well at all. So, I had to work hard on one thing that could be exposed again and again, which I overcame. Right now this is not the case.”

Jasprit Bumrah will be absent from the Asia Cup after suffering from an injury. India is the most successful team in Asia Cup, with the men in blue being the two times defending champions. Pakistan last won the Cup nearly a decade ago in 2012.
