Virat Kohli scripts another world record after smashing runs in his third match of the Asia Cup 2022. India and Pakistan faced each other for the second time in the Asia Cup 2022. The game was on 4th September at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India lost the round by five wickets, but the former Indian skipper managed to make some records.
Virat Kohli shot two half-centuries in the three matches played in the Asia Cup. In the first match, Kohli made 28 runs, 59 runs in the second, and 60 runs in the latest Super 4 match. He went past Indian captain Rohit Sharma to score the most number of half-centuries in T20I. Virat Kohli has 32 half-centuries in his 94 innings for India. Captain has 31 such runs in his 135 matches.
It wasn’t the only record that was created by Virat Kohli in the latest game against Pakistan. It was his fourth fifty-plus runs against Pakistan in the T20 format. He now ranks amongst other players like Kevin Pietersen, Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, and Aaron Finch. He also knocked past his coach Rahul Dravid in the most fifty-plus score in India. Kohli has 194 such scores behind Sachin Tendulkar with 264 runs.
Kohli scored 60 runs off 44 balls in the last match. He wasn’t the best in his form, but in the Asia Cup 2022, Virat has become the leading run-scorer.
