The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Player Auction list has been released, with a total of 590 cricketers slated to be auctioned off during the two-day mega auction in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13, 2022. The IPL will be in its 15th season, and some of the biggest names in cricket will be in attendance to help light up the famous competition. There are 228 capped players, 355 uncapped players, and 7 players from Associate Nations among the 590 players who have registered for the auction.
When the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and others fall under the hammer, a tough struggle for their services is expected.
The ten IPL franchisees – Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Team Ahmedabad – will also be bidding for some of the biggest cricketing names – Faf du Plessis, Da//vid Warner, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Quinton de Kock, Jonny Bairstow.
The highest reserve price is INR 2 crore, and 48 players have opted to position themselves in this category. The auction list has 20 athletes with a reserve price of INR 1.5 crore, and the list of cricketers has 34 players with a reserve price of INR 1 crore.
The IPL has always been a tournament where talent and opportunity have coexisted, and India’s U19 stars like Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, as well as some of the most talked-about Indian cricketers like Devdutt Padikkal, Harshal Patel, Krunal Pandya, Shahrukh Khan, Deepak Hooda, Avesh Khan, and others, will be looking to cash in and make their mark In what promises to be an action-packed IPL 2022 Player Auction in Bengaluru, a total of 370 Indian players and 220 international players will be up for grabs.
