Rajasthan Royals (RR) take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 51 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah on Tuesday, hoping to make the playoffs. With 10 points from 12 games, Sanju Samson’s side is presently sixth in the league rankings. Punjab Kings (PBKS) are in fifth place with 10 points from 13 games, while Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are in fourth place with 12 points from 13 games and a better net run rate than the other two clubs. RR must win their next two games to have any chance of making the playoffs, one of which is against KKR on Thursday.

The previous time RR and MI met, the Rohit Sharma-led side prevailed by seven wickets in Match 24. Rajasthan scored 171 runs from 20 overs, with Samson leading the way with 42 runs off 27 balls. MI achieved 172 for three in 18.3 overs against a target of 172 runs. Quinton de Kock produced a 70-run unbroken innings in 50 balls.

Here are the players we believe will be included in RR’s XI versus MI:

Evin Lewis: The Trinidadian opener has been crucial for RR in the UAE and will be looking to get his team off to a solid start in the batting order. In the powerplay, his free-flowing batting can provide a solid foundation for the rest of the batters.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: With a superb half-century against CSK in his previous game, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal seemed to have finally found his feet in the IPL. The 19-year-old hit 50 off 21 balls to lead his team to a seven-wicket victory. He’ll be a major threat to RR in the fight against MI.

Sanju Samson: Sanju Samson is now third in the Orange Cap race with 480 runs in 12 matches, and his batting and quickly increasing leadership skills will be essential for his side once again.

Shivam Dube: Against CSK, Shivam Dube hit an unbroken 64 runs in 42 balls, justifying the management’s choice to pick him over the struggling Riyan Parag. He’ll be expected to play in Samson’s starting lineup once more.

Glenn Phillips: Glenn Phillips stayed unbeaten in his debut game for RR against CSK, scoring 14 runs, including a six and a four. He’ll be aiming to establish his credentials in the face of MI.

David Miller: Samson will benefit from David Miller’s expertise in the forthcoming match versus MI. In IPL 2021, the South African has 109 runs in eight games for RR.

Rahul Tewatia: In the triumph over CSK, the all-rounder got three wickets for 39 runs in four overs. Rahul Tewatia’s big-hitting abilities will also come in handy.

Kartik Tyagi: Following Akash Singh’s failure to take any wickets in his debut, Kartik Tyagi is expected to return and face Mumbai.

Mayank Markande: Mayank Markande was a member of the team during the win over CSK, and he is likely to return to the starting XI.

Chetan Sakariya: Against CSK, Chetan Sakariya took a wicket and gave up 31 runs in four overs. In the following match, he’ll want to continue his good form.

Mustafizur Rahman: Mustafizur Rahman struggled against CSK, giving up 51 runs in four overs. He is projected to remain in Samson’s starting lineup.
