Riteish Deshmukh to make digital debut with Netflix film ‘Plan A Plan B’

Riteish Deshmukh revealed on Monday that he will make his digital debut in ‘Plan A Plan B’, a humorous coming-of-age Netflix film co-starring Tamannaah Bhatia.

Poonam Dhillon and Kusha Kapila feature in the film, which is directed by Shashanka Ghosh and written by Rajat Arora. The film recounts the narrative of a matchmaker who thinks marriage is for everyone—except herself—and a successful divorce lawyer with a secret, according to the streamer.

“What happens if they happen to cross paths? Is it possible for opposites to cohabit, let alone attract?” read the summary.

Deshmukh, who will next be seen on the big screen in the action film Baaghi 3 in 2020, expressed his delight at the prospect of making his digital debut with Plan A Plan B. “It’s been an amazing joy working with Shashanka sir. What I’m most excited about is the film’s fantastic plot and the journey of this unexpected love tale.

In a statement, the 42-year-old actor added, “I can’t wait for audiences all around the world to witness this incredible narrative come to life on Netflix.”

Ghosh, who previously directed the multi-starrer Veere Di Wedding (2018) and the Netflix comedy House Arrest, described his new film as a “one-of-a-kind narrative” with odd people pitted against one another. “It’s been a lot of fun doing this for Netflix fans all across the world, and I think the film will undoubtedly resonate with them,” he said.

Trilok Malhotra and KR Harish (India Stories Media & Entertainment Pvt Ltd) and Arora’s Funk Your Blues Entertainment Pvt Ltd are producing the film.

Plan A Plan B is a unique film, according to Bhatia, who was blown away by the role of a matchmaker. “Working on this project has been a fantastic experience for the entire crew since we had so much fun on site practically every time we filmed! “I can’t wait for the world to see this one-of-a-kind narrative very soon,” says the “Baahubali” star actor said.

The team is ecstatic to announce the project and offer this “entertaining film to our users in India and throughout the world,” according to Pratiksha Rao, Director, Films and Licensing, Netflix India.

Plan A Plan B’s Netflix debut date will be announced in the following days.
