More than 54.04 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been provided to states and Union territories so far, and 1,09,83,510 additional doses are in the pipeline, the Union health ministry said on Thursday.
According to statistics available at 8 a.m., the total consumption, including waste, is 52,00,96,418 doses.
According to the ministry, there are still 2,55,54,533 COVID-19 vaccine doses available for states, union territories, and private institutions to give.
The Union administration is dedicated to speeding up COVID-19 immunisation and extending its coverage across the country.
The next phase of COVID-19 vaccine universalization began on June 21, 2021.
According to the ministry, the vaccination effort has been boosted by the availability of additional vaccinations, advance awareness of vaccine availability to states and union territories for better planning, and simplifying the vaccine supply chain.
The Indian government has been helping states and union territories by giving free COVID-19 vaccinations as part of a countrywide immunisation campaign.
In a new phase of the COVID-19 immunisation push, the government would buy and distribute (at no cost) 75 percent of the vaccinations manufactured by vaccine producers in the country to states and UTs.
