Velocity becomes the second finalist after Supernovas Women in Women’s T20 Challenge League 2022 finals. They played their last match against Trailblazers yesterday on 26th May and lost. VEL has played two games, where they won one round and lost the second. It was a three-way tie between the teams, and both the finalists were decided based on their net run rate.
Supernovas Women played the match against Trailblazers and won by forty-nine runs. Velocity played their first match and SPN their second, where VEL won by seven wickets. TRL played their second match against VEL and won by sixteen runs. Six games were played, each team playing two games. All three teams won one game and lost the other. It was determined that the finalists would be appointed on a higher net run rate. Supernovas Women was the first team selected for finals even after they lost their second match. Similarly, Velocity won their first match but lost their second and got picked in the finals.
Supernovas Women, led by Harmanpreet Kaur and Velocity, led by Deepti Sharma will go head-to-head on 28th May in Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Previously VEL defeated SPN by seven wickets, but the finals will be a tough match.
