The second match of Women’s T20 Challenge 2022 was yesterday between Supernovas Women (SPN) and Velocity (VEL). The game was played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. It was the second match out of four in the challenge. Supernovas Women won the first match of the Challenge 2022 against Trailblazers on 23rd May.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur was the top scorer of the match, making thirty-seven runs. Pooja Vastrakar was the highlight of the game, as she took four wickets for SPN.
Supernovas Women faced Velocity yesterday, 24th May, at 3:30 pm. It was Velocity’s first match of Challenge 2022. VEL won the toss and sent SPN to bat first.

Batting:
Priya Punia and Deandra Dottin opened for SPN but didn’t sustain, making four and six runs. Harleen Deol also failed to add a significant amount of runs. Taniya Bhatiya and captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored well, making thirty-six runs and an incredible seventy-one runs. Harmanpreet Kaur again achieved the highest run of the match.
Bowling:
Deandra Dottin took two wickets, one with the help of Harmanpreet Kaur’s catch. Pooja Vastrakar also bagged a wicket with the help of the captain’s incredible catch.
SPN gave a target of 150 runs

Velocity:
Batting:
Shafali Verma and Natthakan Chantam opened for VEL. Verma stuck to her pace and scored a half-century of fifty-one runs, though Chantam didn’t sustain and only made one run. Yastika Bhatia made seventeen runs before getting out. Laura Wolvaardt scored fifty-one runs with captain Deepti Sharma who made twenty-four runs.
Bowling:
Kate Cross got two wickets, and Deepti Sharma got one via catch-out. Radha Yadav bowled one out, and Yastika Bhatia took one by run out.
VEL won the game by seven wickets, with ten balls left.
