What a Journey it has Been- Indian Captain Rohit Sharma on Completing 15 years of International Cricket

Indian all-format Captain Rohit Sharma today, on 23rd July, completed his fifteen years playing for India. He has represented India for the last fifteen years and now is the captain of the National team. He cherishes his milestone after taking India to multiple wins. Sharma has been playing for the Mumbai division since the beginning of his career, and is also the captain of Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

The 35-year-old batsman made his debut in an international match against Ireland in Belfast, in 2007 for an ODI. 2007 also marked his first international T20 game against England. Sharma has over 9000 runs to his name in ODI and has played more than two hundred matches. His test debut came late in 2013 when he played against West Indies. He has played forty-five test games.

Rohit Sharma took to Twitter to celebrate his fifteen years of playing International cricket. He tweeted, “15 years in my favourite jersey” with a heartfelt letter as an image.

Sharma wrote, “Today I’ll be completing 15 years of international cricket since I made my debut for India. What a journey it has been, surely one that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

I just want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey and a special thanks for the people who helped me become the player that I am today.

To all the cricket lovers, fans and critics your love and support for the team is what gets us over those hurdles we all inevitably come across.

Thanking you.” 

Rohit Sharma is preparing for the England tour to play an all-format cricket series.
