The Indian Women’s team is ready to face Sri Lanka in the two-format series. It will be the tour of Sri Lanka for India, and the games will begin on 23rd June and go on till 7th July. India and Sri Lanka will play three T20 Internationals and three ODIs. Sri Lanka is busy hosting several tours and events, with the Men’s team playing against Australia and the upcoming Asia Cup 2022.

The Indian team will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur, after Mithali Raj announced her retirement from international cricket a couple of weeks back. Smriti Mandhana is the vice-captain, and a fifteen-player squad is formed for the Sri Lanka tour. Jemimah Rodrigues will be returning to the team after she missed the last ODI World Cup.

“We all are representing our country, and whatever opportunity might come at some point, we must make the best use of it. We have many batters who can play at any position. We will try to give everyone the space to bat where they feel comfortable,” Harmanpreet said about her team.Â

The captain talked about Jemimah,“Jemimah is truly an experienced player. She will definitely play a crucial role in the T20 series, I will ensure that everyone has enough chances to prepare. If you look at Jemimah’s case, she always grabs whatever opportunities come her way. Similarly, it’s very important to keep talking to other players and find out the right combination for big-ticket events like the Commonwealth Games.”
