UEFA Championship League Finals Liverpool vs Real Madrid

The finals of the UEFA Championship League will be between the most popular and hard-hitting teams of the season, Real Madrid and Liverpool FC. Both the teams have risen from their second leg matches in this tournament. The finals will be played on 28th May 2022.

Real Madrid defeated Manchester City in their second leg match in Madrid’s homeland by 3-1. The game was held in Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium, and was an away match for Manchester City. It was an astonishing comeback by Real Madrid after losing their previous round with Manchester City by 4-5. Madrid started their game a little slow but after halftime, they managed to pace up and play strong. Karim Benzema and Rodrygo scored iconic goals leading the team to the finals.

Similar to Real Madrid, Liverpool also emerged in their second leg match. Liverpool played against Villarreal and earned their place in the Championship League Finals. In their first leg, Liverpool was defeated by Villarreal by 2-1. Liverpool managed to take back their deserved win in the second leg played between them.

Villarreal scored the first two goals by Boula Dia and Francis Coquelin. Liverpool still managed to recover in the latter portion of the match, with Luis Diaz, Sadio Mane, and Geronimo Rulli turning the table for them. 

Liverpool rose victorious with a massive lead and destroyed the good defense of Villarreal. Liverpool became the first team to qualify for the finals with a score of 3-2.

Both Real Madrid and Liverpool FC are considered the most successful teams in Championship history. Madrid has a record of thirteen times Championship winning titles, placing them at the top. Liverpool is in third place winning, six Championship titles.

The kickoff between Real Madrid vs Liverpool FC will be on 28th May at 12:30 am. Finals will be available in India on Sony Sports Network, the SonyLIV app, and JioTV

The match will be played on the iconic Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France. The stadium is known for hosting previous UEFA Championship Leagues finals. The prior stadium was Krestovsky Stadium in Russia before the venue was changed. The cause of the change was the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
