India played against South Africa for the second match of the five T20 International home series. The game was at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha, where South Africa again defeated India. South Africa won the first game by seven wickets, even after India gave a target of 211 runs. It was a devastating loss, as the game was on home ground. The second game also ended in the favor of South Africa, and they won by four wickets.

India’s A team players aren’t playing in this series, and several new players are added to the squad. Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh are fresh additions to the Indian team after their fabulous performance in IPL 2022. Malik became the fastest bowler for the IPL 2022, throwing at 157 km per hour.
His consistent pace bowling impressed every player, present and former. Umran broke his record of fastest bowling in this year’s league.

He caught several eyes on him and was appreciated by many players and admirers. Retired Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar gave the highest compliment anyone could give. He compared him to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and said, “The last time, I am trying to think…The last time I got really excited at seeing an Indian Player was Sachin Tendulkar…when Sachin Tendulkar…you know young Indian. And after that, I have got excited watching Umran Malik. So yes, I do believe he should pay, but they might say let’s win the third one and then get ourselves in a situation, maybe then we can experiment with the team. That can well happen. It also depends on the kind of surface that they are going to see in the third T20I,” Gavaskar mentioned on the Star Sports Network, post-second match.

Fans are disappointed in Umran Malik, not yet included in the playing eleven, despite his incredible performance. Malik is likely to be playing for India soon and might be perfecting his bowling.
