Supernovas Women Wins The Womens T20 Challenge League 2022 Defeating Velocity

The final match of the Women’s T20 Challenge League 2022 was played yesterday, between Supernovas Women and Velocity on 28th May. It was the fourth edition or season of the Challenge League,  the fourth year of SPN and the third year of VEL. Both the teams were selected in the finals based on their net run rate. All three teams played two games and won one, and lost the other. The Supernovas Women became the first finalist and Velocity, second. The game was played at Maharashtra Association Stadium in Pune at 7:30 pm IST.

Supernovas Women and Velocity played in the finals of the Challenge League. VEL won the toss and led SPN to bat first. It was a good move by Deepti Sharma to choose bowling first. The match was a close call, and the winning probabilities shifted massively. Supernovas batted quite well, Priya Puniya and Deandra Dottin made twenty-eight, sixty-two runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored forty-three. It was an incredible inning played by SPN and gave Velocity a target of 165 runs. Deandra Dottin, Alana King, and Sophie Ecclestone got two wickets each. Supernovas Women won the finals by four runs.

Velocity won the toss and made it easy to win, but due to poor bowling performance, they let the match slip out of their hands. Supernovas Women gave their best in bowling and changed the whole game, defeating the odds. They added one more title to their previous two winning titles. It will be their last win in Challenge League as hopefully, by next year, it will be upgraded into Women’s IPL, and new teams will be involved.
