Sunil Chhetri is India’s National Football team captain and Bengaluru captain in the Indian Super League or ISL. He is one of the most outstanding Indian players of all time. Chhetri is the sixth-highest goalscorer in the world and shares this position with international stars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He also holds the second-highest international goal-scorer, jointly with Messi. He is also the most capped player of all time. Sunil represented India in many international championships and won. He was a winner of three SAFF Championships and one AFC Challenge Cup.

Sunil Chhetri Returns to the Indian Squad List for Friendly Game Against Jordan

Sunil Chhetri will be back in the playing squad after a long break, against Jordan in an International Friendly match. Chhetri last played against Nepal for the Indian National Team in October 2021, where he led a 3-0 win. He didn’t play further and was ruled out of the team due to several injuries and physical complications. He will be present in the playing squad for a friendly match with Jordan. AIFF released a statement, “The Senior Men’s National Team head coach Igor Stimac has named the 25-member squad that is set to travel to Doha, Qatar to play a friendly match against Jordan on May 28th.”

The Blue Tigers will play against Jordan in preparation for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. The Indian team will fly to Doha to practice for the game against Jordan.
