Smriti Mandhana Ranks Eighth in Women’s ODI Ranking Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma Also Rises

The Indian Women’s team recently played their second ODI against the Sri Lankan Women’s team, which they won by flying colors. India is having a good series against Sri Lanka as they are leading in their tour. The women in blue have won the T20I games, winning two matches out of three. They will also prevail in ODI as India has already won two out of three games.

Indian vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma were the sole batswomen to play in the second ODI for India. They were enough to chase down the target and get India a win by eight wickets. Mandhana scored 94 runs, and Verma got 71 runs. It had some favorable repercussions for the players, especially for the Vice-captain.

Smriti Mandhana moved up in the rankings to the number 8th position in the batter’s chart for the ICC Women’s ODI rankings. She is the only player from India in the top ten of the list. Australian player Alyssa Healey sits on the top, followed by England’s Natalie Sciver. Along with Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma also rose in rankings.

Sharma is in 29th position, and Verma is in her career-best 36th ranking. Shafali is on the 4th rank in the T20I list. Few other players also moved ahead some ranks, like Pooja Vastrakar in 61st, Rajeshwari Gayakwad in 93rd, and Meghna Singh in 100th position.
