Indian senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is reported to dismiss himself from going to England temporarily. He and some of his teammates haven’t traveled to the UK for the upcoming tour. The India tour of England will be the continuation of their last year’s test series, which was canceled mid-playing due to covid.

India is set to play one test match beginning from 1st July to 5th July. The test will be followed by three T20 Internationals and three ODIs. Presently Ravichandran Ashwin is in quarantine according to a PTI. He will join the squad once, in perfect condition to play. The Indian team already left for England on 16th June.

The BCCI source stated, “Ashwin hasn’t traveled with the squad to the UK as he has tested positive for Covid-19 before departure. But we are hopeful that he will recover well in time before the Test Match starts on July 1.” The team already present in England have already started their practice under batting coach Vikram Rathour.

Ravichandran Ashwin Positive for COVID-19, Misses Flight to England
Indian head coach Rahul Dravid along with Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer reached England and traveled to Leicester after finishing the five-game T20I against South Africa. India will also head to Ireland in a couple of days for two T20Is from 26th June. VVS Laxman is the coach, and Hardik Pandya is the captain.
