PV Sindhu Wins Singapore Open 2022 Finals, Beats Wang Zhiyi: Two times Olympic winner PV Sindhu won the Singapore Open 2022, Women’s Singles on 17th July, Sunday. It was a great performance throughout the tournament. Sindhu won her third title in 2022. She won her first title in Women’s Singles at Syed Modi International Tournament. Sindhu prevailed in the Swiss Open 2022 and won her second title.
The Indian shuttler went against Wang Zhiyi of China in the finals. In the first set Sindhu immediately attacked and dominated the game. She got an 11-2 score and continued to add in points. Indian had a ten-point lead at 19-9 when she got two points and won the first set by 21-9.

Wang leads in the second set with 0-6 points. She made an incredible comeback from the last game. Sindhu fails to go past 3 points with 3-11. The Indian took a couple of scores but never advanced Wang. PV Sindhu lost the second set by 21-11.
In the final tie-breaker match, Wang gets back-to-back points and leads by 1-2. Sindhu succeeds in equaling the score by 3 all. The Indian takes the lead and leads 8-5 and then 11-6. Wang takes three points and closes in on Sindhu at 14-11. The Chinese don’t give up the chase till 18-14, and India finally wins at 21-15.

It was India’s third ever win in the Singapore Open and second ever in Women’s Singles. Saina Nehwal took the title in 2010 and Sai Praneeth in 2017. It was PV Sindhu’s first-ever title win at the Singapore Open.
