PM Modi Interacts with the Indian Players Bound for Commonwealth Games 2022: The Commonwealth Games are just weeks away from the inauguration. The Games will begin on the 28th of July, in Birmingham. There will be over 5000 athletes participating from all over the world. It will be the biggest sports event in the UK after the London Olympics in 2012.
India has been amongst the leading medal-winning countries participating in the Birmingham Games. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a virtual conference with the Indian participants and wished them ‘Good Luck’ in his style.

He said, “Play well with all your strengths, without stress. You must have heard the saying ‘Koi Nahi Takkar Mein, Kyu Pade Ho Chakkar Mein’ so play with the same attitude at the Commonwealth Games.”
The Indian Olympic Association has named 322-member mighty contingents for the Birmingham Games. Among the 322 members, 215 are Indian athletes and the remaining 107 are the officials and the support staff. The game will be held from 28th July to 8th August.

India ranked third in the 2018 Commonwealth games for the most medals won. Australia was at the top, followed by host England. The athletes will be placed in five different villages in the city.
