PM Modi Congratulates PV Sindhu on Her Singapore Open Victory: PV Sindhu played the finals of Singapore Open 2022 on 17th July, Sunday. She played against Wang Zhiyi of China, winning the first ever Singapore Open Title of her career. Sindhu played with a steady pace throughout the tournament and won the match without breaking any sweat.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated PV Sindhu on her incredible feat in the Singapore Open. He tweeted, “I congratulate @Pvsindhu1 on winning her first ever Singapore Open title. She has yet again demonstrated her exceptional sporting talent and achieved success. It is a proud moment for the country and will also give inspiration to upcoming players.”

The two-time Olympic medalist defeated Wang Zhiyi by 21-9, 11-21, and 21-15. She dominated the game and kept her couple of points above the Chinese. Wang made a comeback in the second set and won. Sindhu got back to playing aggressively and triumphed in the tie-breaker game.

It was PV Sindhu’s third title of 2022. She won the Syed Modi International Tournament in January. She defeated Malvika Bansod by 21-13and 21-16, winning her first title. The Indian shuttler also prevailed at the Swiss Open 2022 in March, defeating Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand by 21-16 and 21-8.
